About
A rocky cove south of Vizag with sea stacks, empty sand and a traditional potters’ village.
Tantadi is a coastal village near Atchutapuram, south of Visakhapatnam. Its small cove is framed by dark rock formations and sea stacks, with a wide, empty beach running away to the neighbouring Vadapalem shore.
The village is known for its potters, who still shape lamps and pots on traditional wheels. Visiting the workshops is a lovely complement to the beach.
Tantadi is undeveloped and quiet, popular with photographers for moody sunrise shots of the rocks. There are no facilities and the waves are powerful.
