About
A flat, quiet beach near NTPC Simhadri where the plant’s seawater pipeline runs out across the sand.
Thikkavanipalem is a fishing village near the NTPC Simhadri power station at Parawada, south of Visakhapatnam. Locals often call its shore the NTPC or “pump house” beach, after the long seawater pipeline that runs out from the plant across the sand and into the sea.
The beach is wide, flat and usually empty. The pipeline bridge and its long perspective make it popular with photographers and for pre-wedding shoots, especially in the late afternoon light.
It is undeveloped, with no shops or facilities, and the approach roads are rough in places. Do not enter the plant’s fenced or restricted areas.
