About
Hilltop near Paderu famous for a “sea of clouds” at sunrise in winter.
Vanjangi is a hill near Paderu in the Eastern Ghats, at around 3,400 feet. In winter, dense clouds settle in the valleys below the summit, and at dawn the sun rises over what looks like an ocean of white — locals call it Megha Samudram, the sea of clouds.
Reaching the top means a short but steep trek before dawn from the parking area. Thousands of visitors come on winter weekends, many camping overnight, so the summit can get crowded.
Facilities are minimal and the area is not formally managed. Carry warm clothes, a torch and water, and take your rubbish back down.

- Bus: APSRTC buses to Paderu, then a local jeep or auto.
- Auto: Jeeps and autos from Paderu.
- Cab / car: Hire a cab from Vizag; leave around 1 am to reach before sunrise.
