About
Forested Eastern Ghats hills on the city’s edge, with nature trails and adventure activities.
Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary protects a large block of dry deciduous forest and hills on the northern edge of the city, between the national highway and the Mudasarlova reservoir. It is named after the Kambalakonda hill at its centre.
The eco-tourism zone near the zoo offers nature trails, cycling, zip-lining, a Burma bridge and other adventure activities, along with picnic spots and a lake. The forest is home to deer, wild boar, reptiles and a great variety of birds.
Winter mornings are the best time, when mist lies in the valleys and the light is soft. Summer can be very hot and dry.
