About
A quiet fishing village beach with a backwater, sand bars and rows of painted boats.
Muthyalammapalem is a fishing village on the coast south of Visakhapatnam, beyond the Parawada pharma zone. Its beach is long and open, with a shallow backwater and sand bars behind the shore where boats are pulled up.
The scene here is about everyday coastal life: brightly painted fishing boats, nets drying on the sand, red crabs scurrying across the beach and casuarina groves along the backwater. It is popular with photographers and with families looking for a quiet weekend spot.
There are almost no facilities, and the sea is rough. Respect the fishing community’s work areas and ask before photographing people.
